I am in need of a new scabbard for a pair of training swords. Anyone do this kind of work?
Slow Hand here on INGO.
Thanks, Joe. He called me after training tonight.
You are welcome, sir!
Slow Hand does excellent work and he's a good man.
Another option...if you are attending the Lafayette show this weekend, Harveys Holsters will be set up there and can make you a scabbard while you wait. If you can't make the show he is fairly close to you...Battle Ground IN.
He has made several knife sheaths for some of my customers, and everyone seems pleased with his work.

On the web site, there's a picture of my AdV Tac Butcher and the neck sheath they made for me. Still use it!
So you'll be in Lafayette this weekend? Uh-oh! I feel a weakness . . .
Yes sir, I'll be at the Lafayette show this weekend.
If anyone hears a loud sound over the weekend, that was me falling off the wagon.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of sword work are you into?

Well, it's no secret. I have studied Wing Chun for a very long time. I like it, even though I am far too long in the tooth to be a bada**. I like the focus/discipline, purpose, the fellowship but to be honest I am the old, half-crippled senior NCO of the club who should have mustered out long ago.
The swords are called baat jaam dao (eight cut swords). They are similar to the "butterfly" or "bull's ears" swords of Hung Gar or Choy Li Fut styles of kung fu (8 cuts are usually shorter, 10" blades or so). They are a Southern Chinese weapon.
This is my club, we are downtown Lafayette on Main Street: https://www.indianawingchun.com/about.html
Very cool. I wish I was closer, I would check it out. I love Wing Chun, but have more experience on the JKD side of it (Inosanto & Natural Spirits / Worden Defense). I'm mostly working on Kali (Pekiti Tirsia) at the moment, but Wing Chun is pretty bad ass.
I am shocked that there is not Wing Chun in Bloomington. You think there would be a viable market there.
Bloomington is where I first started it. Henry Cook would come up from Louisville on the weekends. Good times.
