plumbing question

I have a question for the plumbing pros. Have any of you heard of plumbing a new construction house for one specific brand of faucets? I have a friend building a custom home. They have picked out all their plumbing fixtures and the plumber who plumbed the house said he plumped if for DELTA faucets only.
I have never heard of such a thing, but I don't know everything either. -Jason

Other than proprietary spacing maybe, or some type of quick connect fitting that was installed, I call BS.

I thought maybe the fittings too, but, that would just be from the wall stub/valve to the fixture. All their GRANITE has been drilled for the fixtures they have already bought. I told him to tell the plumber to redo the work because they never discussed this part of the plan. -Jason

Tub fixtures I can almost understand because single handle tub/shower controls are normally hard plumbed and have specific places where the lines come in, but faucets? Um. No. I too call BS and the tub/shower thing is just giving an excuse for why someone my think this.

Even tub and shower fixtures are close enough to the same dimensions that I don't see where it would be a problem.

After re reading, it sounds like the plumber rough plumbed using delta for showers and tubs. Those would need changed to whatever brand. The sinks wouldn't matter.

My buddy showed me brands of shower/tub fixtures that I had never heard of. To high end for my blood I guess. -Jason

He's full of it. Even if its roughed for delta shower there's plenty of brands that have the same rough ins
