    Alright this is getting old.
Every morning at 820 the phone rings (land line) this has been going on for several months, the number on the caller ID is 208-5050 if answered I get a hang up, when I call it back I get a disconnected recording. Anybody else ever had this problem or does anyone else have any ideas on how to deal with it ?

    Thanks !

My land line phone allows me to block calls. Whenever I get a nuisance call, I block the number.

I haven't had a landline in years, but if memory serves me well... I believe *69 (after they call), will automatic call back. And *67 (after they call) will automatic block. With auto block, they will not be allowed to connect the call to you.:twocents:

actually *69 is call back but *67 is ONLY a call ID block. So when you call your number is blocked. It does not stop them from repeat calling.

I could also be a random number being spoofed by a VoIP system. There are ways to make the caller ID show a different number than you are calling from.

What's your phone company say when you call them to complain?

Contact your Congressman and ask for a National Security Agency report on who is at that number and why they are calling you.

Thanks for the correction. Been too long for me. I vaguely remember being able to use a *6x number to block the caller though. *68 maybe?:dunno:

We were getting scammer calls on the land and cell lines from a credit card company. Always a weird area code. We unplugged the land line and watch the caller ID on the TV screen. If we recognize it we either get to the phone or just call back. If some one knows us they call on the cells but our land line number has been the same for 31 years. Kind of attached......:dunno:
