Can someone from MI buy a handgun or long gun at an Indiana gun show? Assuming he can pass the background check obviously.

Yes.... With some caveats.

A long-gun may be purchased from an FFL - as long as a 4473 is filled out and passed.

A handgun may be purchased from an FFL + pay to have it shipped to an FFL in the buyer's home state. The 4473 will be filled out there.

Long gun: Yes. Handgun: No, although the seller can ship the firearm to a MI FFL for the transfer.
