Yesterday evening we were getting things ready for a cookout/wiener roast at our river lot and saw a family of otters. About 4PM and they were heading out from under the bridge at Eugene over the Vermillion River. They headed downstream on the bank. Five or six of them, all black and pretty, first time I ever saw otters that close about 30 feet. Jim.

The do look pretty cute and snuggly, although I imagine trying to snuggle an otter might be a bad idea…

A few years ago I was taking my son squirrel hunting on the back part of our property. We have Sprinkle creek that runs through the property that is dry or a trickle alot but has pools that are there year round. When we're getting ready to cross I saw a family of 4 otters wandering down the creek bed. My son got to see them too. They were headed west toward Oil creek that has water year round.
