At our old place there were chiggers and fleas. They never bothered me, but I couldn't stand to see my wife or kids chewed to shreds.

Spraying store bought stuff did next to nothing.
I called around for a pro to come out. Orkin said there was not much anyone could do about chiggers, but fleas were no problem.

Ended up with Aptiva for a monthly treatment. No more critters. Only warning they had was they could not get rid of spiders, mosquitos or wasps.

Little blood suckers have never bothered with me, but wasps show no respect.
I just deal with those bullies one at a time.

I can get freaky or even protective around spiders because I love to photograph them.
Besides they do good work when left alone.

Doing photography for a living for 14 years took away some of the magic of a life long hobby for me.

Yeah, where I am from in Eastern KY, if you got off the sidewalk, you would get eat up.
Not unlike the Nashville area where I lived for several years.
If I sat outside reading or something, lay down my book and it would be covered with them.
Barely see them, but they show up on light colored surfaces.

When we first got the keys to this home, first call was to Aptiva to come out and inspect.
Kind of expensive, but the job they do works.

They were there the same day I called to assess.
They set out little traps all over the yard and in the trees, gave it an hour while they did like an inch by inch inspection of the outside of the home.

Gave a very high grade on a well sealed house and no major infestation of the tiny buggers.
So, once a year inside and monthly for the yard in summer and even our dog who rolls in the grass every chance he gets, is flea free.
