Just picked up a Ruger 77 in .44. Now I'm looking at optics. Right now I'm leaning towards a Redfield 2-7X33mm. Anybody have any experience with the new Redfield line?
Looking at all options right now, What are your thoughts on optics for this caliber in a rifle?

It's a hard rifle to scope. The rings that come with it are barely tall enough to clear the bolt handle with a 32mm objective. If you send them back to Ruger before you install them, they will trade them out for taller ones for free.

I put a shotgun scope on mine, 1.75-4x32 Bushnell Trophy XLT, which has 3.5" of eye relief and the Circle-X reticle. It's also only 10.5" long, which is nice. (Link from OpticsPlanet) I had the same scope on my muzzy (except in Realtree to match it) and I liked it a lot, so I got one for the 77 as well. four power max does very well at the ranges the 77 is capable of shooting - 150yds if shooting LEVERevolution.
