OK, get your popcorn if you must but here goes. Looking for opinions as to what optic may best suit a .308 pistol. PTR 91 to be exact. I'm looking for a red dot that's not along the lines of a aimpoint pro. (I have that already and it is great, just a bit much for a pistol). Something a bit smaller/lighter but holds zero.

    Please and thanks.

Take a look at a Trijicon MRO. I was in the market for a red dot recently and was going crazy researching. I was able to look through a few options at various box stores and landed on the MRO. The glass is extremely clear and the “issues” in early models have been eliminated after serial number 90000 I believe it was? Can be had for $400-550 depending on mount. Also you can’t say red dot without mentioning the Aimpoint Micro T-2. It’s going to be more expensive than the MRO. If you are looking for less expensive, the best I looked through was the Vortex Sparc AR. It can be had for under $200 easily if you do some shopping. GOOD LUCK!
