I'm comfortable out to 100 yds if I have a half decent rest. Never had to shoot more than 50 yds at a deer though. The dot scope plays a big part in that, just doesn't feel very "precise" at that kind of range.
I've only ever recovered one bullet, which was embedded in the [now shattered] far shoulder on a big 8 pt. Doe I shot last year barely slowed the bullet down @ ~40 yds.
