I was doin some research on olympic shooting and came across the "running deer" competitions where competitors fired at moving deer silhouettes. They matches were held between 1908 and 1948 then died off. It would be neat to somehow revive some of these old matches.

The 1900 Paris games had live pigeon shooting. Apparently political correctness is nothing new. The event was never held again.

I've shot an air rifle at the old "running boar" target. It was a lot of fun. Sadly, it was another shooting sport eliminated by the Olympic Committee.

I heard that the running deer/boar target was changed to just a bullseye, I'm surprised that they'd dump the event altogether after giving it a PC target.

Yep, they changed the international rapid fire pistol target to a round bullseye, as well. The blocky full length black silhouette must not have been politically correct.
