This story does not make sense. I've read both the parents were home. And the mom smelled smoke. The fire alarms should have been blaring by then. Fires don't get out of control that quickly without an accelerant. I'm guessing something that the parents thought they could handle. Then it got to be "oh crap" and oops there's a kid upstairs. Then Dad went back in to get said child napping upstairs?
I didn't sound like they left the child. Believe both suffered burns and smoke inhalation. The delivery driver attempted entry a couple time too, but was quickly overcome by smoke and heat
