WHERE DOES IT STOP? WHEN DOES IT STOP? WHAT'S THEIR DEFINITION OF MENTAL STATUS?
Why is Obama constantly devising ways to take or limit gun rights/freedom? He knows the Republicans will not allow it to happen. They have our backs!
Is this where we play "pretend" on INGO? We are going to pretend that the Commerce Clause does not exist and and the Supreme Court said nothing like "plenary power"?
...
Yes , thanks
We could pretend that the commerce clause actually meant something and likely even had some limited purpose prior to allowing the government to redefine it as their very own legislative catch-all excuse to intrude upon and regulate every detail of society.
States are supposed to be sovereign, setting their own rules and laws, and Abe Lincoln destroyed a lot of that during the civil war. What is lost is hard to regain. If the country would just enforce the laws we have that would go a long way to stop the criminal element.Anything that "infringe" is Unconstitutional. And the commerce clause was put in to stop different states from getting into a war over trade. Remember this country was founded on the idea that each state is separate and is joining the union. Not that each state is a subordinate to the union as a whole. The commerce clause was not there to let the federal government regulate everything. And if the only reason we need these infringements is cause of the commerce clause then we should legally be able to buy ANYTHING that is produced in Indiana. And I am all for supporting local businesses. Any tanks made 100 percent in Indiana. I think I need a tank.
NRA is backing according to the article. Have to read more, but I saw grant money mentioned which really means it comes out of my pocket somehow.
Exactly. Cornyn didn't say it would eliminate all of the problem. It just closes a hole that no one should have a problem with being closed.

As a side note, the author used some sketchy, misleading language in the article. The NRA has backed the senator in the past and support him in general. They have not backed this particular legislation as implied by the author.
