My .17 hmr is one accurate bugger. 5 , 5 shot groups avg .58" at 75 yds off a harris bipod.
That lil pill is too much for squirrels IMHO, great for gophers, g-hogs out to 150 yds, and IF it was what I had in hand at the time, I would use on a 'yote.
Shot placement is critical, but this rifle makes it easy.
