Recently moved here from Illinois. I had applied for my Illinois Concealed Carry license the first day enrollment was open (back when the courts forced Illinois to belatedly recognize the 2nd amendment back in 2013 in Moore v. Madigan).

I officially became an Indiana resident on Nov 1 by getting my Indiana drivers licenses. Same day, I applied for a Lifetime License to Carry and got my fingerprints done. After 2 days, my county sheriff's office was able to submit my application to ISP.

Today, I see my status is approved, and I have a license issued with license number. Now it's just waiting for the mail. 9 days total from becoming an Indiana resident to issuing a license is amazing! And my total cost was $12.95 (fee for digital fingerprint)

Wow, what a quick and easy process!

Can't remember what the cost was for mine but I had applied for my 5 year as soon as I could. That one took a while because of the covid had most things shut down. Got my lifetime in good time this spring. Both I had to pay the fees because I applied just before they went free except fingerprints.
The $12.95 was no problem either after paying $60.00 over in Illinois when I got that done. Jim.

It could be easier if we could actually get constitutional carry passed, but glad to hear it.
Well, of course. But right now, I'll settle for "pretty darn good" instead of waiting for "exceptional" ;)

My Illinois license was ~$300 after accounting for the mandatory training, and took ~3 months. (And I got fingerprinted for free though a friend. It would've been more otherwise.)

The "fee exempt" was just the icing on the cake. If I recall it wasn't that expensive even before July 1.

It's great here!!! Many thanks to all those here and all across Indiana that have worked to keep this state great. Those of us that come from Illinois and value the 2A really appreciate this more than you can imagine after living in a ****hole. Jim.

It came in the mail today. Less than 2 weeks as an Indiana resident. :) Faster than my driver's license ;)
That is great to hear. I've heard some horror stories about the wait for fingerprints.

The General Assembly session starts in January, Constitutional Carry will be back as a bill (should've passed last year), stay tuned to INGO for more ConC news.

Oh, and welcome to the Great State of Indiana.

Congrats and remember to buy a quality holster, and belt as there are no laws vs concealed or open carry. You have your new LTCH(License to Carry Handgun).
Some business request No Firearms, concealed carry is your business.
Just note that some school events, and gov't buildings and casinos are restricted.
Again, Congrats and glad you received yours quickly.

After I moved back to Indiana, from Va, it took 3 weeks after application......God Bless Indiana! Va took about 2 months, luckily I had a DD214 showing marksmanship qualification from the USAF, to satisfy the Va training requirement when I applied

Now, are you not glad that you moved to Indiana from Illinois? More and more people are moving out of that Democrat hell hole.

Absolutely. :) Just look at net migration. The authoritarian socialist states (such as Illinois, New York) are all experiencing outflows. And the freedom-loving states are experiencing net positive. I'm glad to be a resident of Indiana; Below map is from North American Van Lines, and it tells the picture. Illinois had 69% moving out and only 31% moving in.

I am super happy I moved out of that horrible place and glad to see the new member "xwing" did also. Never met him in person but we were both on "illinois carry" forum for years, he is one of the good guys. I hope the liberals from that state move somewhere else, so they don't turn Indiana blue. That would be more of a problem in NW Indiana because they would be coming from the Chicago area. Jim.

After the second time I had to renew my LTCH, I said THWI and got the Lifetime. Anything to keep from having to go to the City County Building ever again.
