2000 chevy zr2 4wd blazer 4.3 liter vortec. Dexcool leaking on the backside, possibly the freeze plug? Am I going to lose all my coolant to replace it? Any ideas to what it may be? I haven't got to look at it yet but it usually only leaks when the heat is running.

Since you say it only seems to leak when the heat is running, first thing I'd check would be the heater hose connection at the back of the intake maifold. They have
a tendancy to leak once the seal degrades.

    It's the gasket thanks all..
Time consuming, but not difficult. Do not buy the plastic intake gaskets, be sure to use the metal impregnated with rubber, last longer and are much better. Torque the intake down properly and watch putting the silicone at the front and rear of the intake.

When you are done I have an Astro that needs the same gasket replaced again. I did it last time about 6 years ago since I did it last.

PS-Be sure to drop fuel pressure before starting. Remove Fuel Pump Relay and crank for about 30 seconds.
