I bought a pair of Danners recently. I only have around 15-20 miles on them but like them so far. They are pretty casual looking but seem pretty solid. I got them on sale at the time.

I can't speak highly enough about these or the company. I have three pair and love them. https://www.salomon.com/en-us/shop/product/quest-4d-3-gtxr.html#color=18042
Finally giving up on my "do all" tactical/hiking/casual boots, after 3 years and putting them through hell.
What is a good "do it all" boot that doesn't scream tactical operator?

I think you lost me at "not expensive" all things are relative, but dang good boots are pricey. Part of the reason I'm having such a hard time deciding.I'm jumping on this as I have been looking for about a year now.
I may want something different than most but I'm looking for a boot to mostly wear to the range:
1. Lightweight
2. As minimal of a heel drop as possible
3. Will insulate feet from the rocks telegraphing through to the bottom of my foot.
4. Not crazy expensive
5. Breathable for hot weather wear. Some mesh panels would be good.
6. Non waterproof. Self draining would be cool.
I'll read along and see what options come up.

I'm on my 4th pair of Salomon. Tried about all else. These have the best fit and I get about 6 months of every day wear from them.I can't speak highly enough about these or the company. I have three pair and love them. https://www.salomon.com/en-us/shop/product/quest-4d-3-gtxr.html#color=18042
