I recently inherited this old revolver.
It has a stamped logo near the grip with what appears to be an RA.
The barrel has "38 long cartridge" on it and the serial number is on the butt. No model number anywhere.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I think you have an AFR revolver made in Belgium chambering the 38 LC. They were imported in massive quantities in the 50's thru the 70's under many names (mostly logos that had a resemblance to S&W) at about 1/2 the prevailing price of a smith at the time. Check the lockup and alignmen tbefore firing. IMPORTANT... these things will commonly chamber a 38 Spcl round but are chambered for the 38 LC. It would be wise to ask the advise of a qualified gunsmith before firing. If you decide otherwise use 38LC only.... NO 38 SPECIAL even though they may fit, for that matter you may be able to get a 357 to fit also.

Vague information seems to be common on some of the older imported guns. It certainly makes it a challenge to identify them.
    Thanks for the replies.
