OK, wow, didn't realize how expensive crossbows could be. I'm looking in the $300 to $400 range, I'm not planning on hunting with it (well maybe in a SHTF situation) I'm more looking for something that will be reliable, without being a massive waste of resources for something that will probably be taken out once a month for some target shooting/practice. I know, I know buy once cry once, but for what I'm going to be doing, I don't know if if justifies $800 and up.

Better shoot it off a bipod as it is loooonnnnggg and front heavy..

I have shot it, agree it is long and heavy, but IMHO most Xbows suck in a similar fashion. The TAc 15 is fast though, fairly quiet and well made, plus if your AR lower has a good trigger in it, that's another plus.

Xbow manufacturers are starting to put good triggers in their rigs, so maybe not as much of an issue as was a couple yrs ago.

The bull pup design of my new Stealth SS (which is coming in the brown truck today) is MUCH shorter. I've shot a lot of crossbows and this one is the best balanced of any. It sure doesn't "suck" in being front end heavy.

Speed is pretty good at 350 fps...

Tac 15 hits 400+ and is pretty quiet.

BTW, swung by shop north on 31 today, they had 2 of the Native X bows.

Also had a Mission, needed sunglasses for the string/cables! ;)

Used X Caliber there too. My buddy had one, liked it, but sold it due to the unwieldiness of an X bow. Went back to a compound, Bowtech Assassin, that too was quiet, and he shot it well (put venison in the freezer).

Lots of choices to do that these days.
