    Well Duh! You know, I retired in 1983, and I have NEVER paid attention to my ID card! I thought, all this time that it was grey. I never maxed out on attention to detail. Thanks for the lesson!
    Grey-ID Mafia doesn't sound as cool. The older (the large pre-1996-97ish IDs that didn't fit in your wallet good at all) IDs were more grey now that I think about it. The active duty IDs were a lighter green back then IIRC.

    Now that I think about it, I had a USAF Civvie boss in the early 00s who retired in 83. His retired ID was closer to grey than blue.
