I've found that as they get older pushing 1 1/2 acres is about their limit. Maybe put in a pool or tennis court to utilize that extra 1/2 acre so she doesn't have to mow?

Yeah, it's a lot easier to hose off a tennis court than it is to mow.

That's the spirit! I hope she finds one that is both sturdy and PRETTY; after all, there's no reason for her to lose her identity in all this.

Sitting there watching the girls cut the grass and then I woke up here in the hospital. That's all I remember !

Are you kidding? They dont make them like they used to. Newer models are MUCH higher maintenance. Go for one thats been broke in a bit. You'll be happier.
