Should I leave the rust on the bolt, would it keep its value? Or should I remove the rust (enhance value?) and if so, what should I use? Thanks a bunch!!

Come on guys.... I have my wife convinced they are going up in value and that's why I need to buy as many as I can now. Why do you have to go and ruin it for me? Back to the OP I would do whatever I thought was right to preserve the gun. I plan on passing my Mosins on to my kids and I am assuming they will be worth tens of thousands. :D

Like the others said, I wouldnt worry too much about the value. When I was 16 or 17 I left mine in my truck toolbox and forgot about it for about month... after shooting corrosive ammo and lots of rain/humidity. Needless to say, it did not look pretty. After ALOT of Hoppes #9, steel wool, and more bore patches than I could count, it looked pretty good. Ill never forget the cloud of rust that adhered to inside of my lungs when I first ran the wire brush down the bore.
