If we're talking about the cutoff for receiving the full stimulus check amount, the previous threshold was 75K for an individual or 150K if married filing jointly I believe. Maybe I'm misunderstanding though.
I saw it somewhere that the most current $1400 check was supposed to be based on $40k.... I’d have to dig to find it

Because they aren't looking out for this country. That is a far distant priority well behind obtaining more and more power. They serve themselves, not you or I.
"No one will really understand politics until they understand that politicians are not trying to solve our problems. They are trying to solve their own problems — of which getting elected and re-elected are number one and number two. Whatever is number three is far behind." – Thomas Sowell
#3 is their "gift" from the CCP. Maybe closer behind that Sowell theorized.

$1400, $1200, so for $2600, theyve made up for 10 months of crippled economy? That’s barely 2 months rent for a lot of people, 1 month for others. Send out enough for a new TV acouple times a year, and they‘ll be happy.

I do not think the checks are a good idea. I am also not as good of a guy as some on here because I do not plan to donate mine to charity.

I am trying to find furniture for the new place instead.

I think the "earners" should fight economically. But it would take all of us. Call your HR department and tell them to stop withholding federal income taxes. Cash out your retirement accounts, and withdraw your cash from the bank. The entire scheme is vote for us and we'll take from those who have and give it to you. To fight it, you have to leave nothing for them to take.
