Ron Paul delegates in Louisiana beat the Establishment at their own game. The state's Republican Convention was 62% favorable to Ron Paul, and that majority moved to replace the convention chairman, all within the confines of the party's rules.

This transfer of power was met with violence, as the ousted chairman refused to relinquish control, and used his blueshirts to arrest the newly elected chairman and his supporters.

Wow that is very interesting. Apparently the some people refuse to see the writing on the wall. Does anyone know what consequences the former convention chairman, police and state party officials face? Would be pretty awesome if they were charged with tampering with an election or something along those lines.

I suppose this is the point at which some people would rather dispense with the pretense of holding fair elections rather than accept the consequences of having fair elections?

Good point, but primaries are more difficult to enforce, at least in practice if not the letter of the law, since they are essentially elections within the party to elect a slate of candidates, hence internal business.

That was democracy in action. What makes people think we could vote this away on the large levels where it really matters? Give me my constitutional repupublican form of government I was garanteed.

We shall see, but this isn't the only incident involving such behavior from Ron Paul supporters.

    From the article:

“Establishment Republicans sometimes claim that Ron Paul supporters occasionally get out-of-hand. This has been true, and to the extent that some Paul supporters have exhibited poor behavior [it] not only reflects badly on the individuals involved, but Dr. Paul,” wrote Paul campaign blogger Jack Hunter on June 2."

Maybe the fascist Establishment should cool it.

You'll have to talk to Dr. Paul. He is aware that his supporters are resorting to desperation tactics. He wants to save his say in Tampa and it is now looking that his say may just be yet another mass e-mailing.

If you ever want to have fun and troll a meeting, spend some time learning Robert's Rules of Order. You can turn a meeting into a marathon and pummel your foes with procedure. Good for a nerd laugh.

    I wouldn't know, of course. :)

2nd article stated the RP supporters attended lightly attended meetings to get elected. Well, that's what happens. If you show, you vote. If you don't, you don't have a say.

This is why working from within the party won't work. We've seen the same thing in other states. They'll kill you first.

Third party doesn't seem to be all that successful either.

I see limited options for change using the ballot box. Do you have any suggestions that don't ignore basic human behavior and a 200 year history?
