All the good points bought up about the Tisas and at that price point, if I was shopping for a 1911, I think I would get a Tisas.
All the cool kids are getting one.
I might even embrace one in 9mm.

Not sure of your point. I mentioned earlier in this thread that the DW has been getting a lot of complaints on the 1911 forum.
How can this be? I thought they were expensive.

It's almost like there are other factors involved.

Have they tried a fancier rollmark yet?

They have a pretty nice 10mm too.
After handing, and shooting my nephews 1911a1 army version they I'm more inclined to buy that 10mm. It has a lot of extras that come with it.

I've not had issues with any of mine. But, I don't think I've bought one in the last 5 years, so cannot attest to current build quality. Kimber gets a lot of flak but when I owned those, they ran well too. They were not a great 1911 for the money spent, but the things did work.

I have to admit that I'm interested in picking up a Tisas just to fill the gap left open when I let the Kimber Compact go. That was my beater 1911 and I should have held on to it. By the time I sold it, it was a really good runner even if not pretty. The frame was bead blasted bare and it had been worked to a minor degree to be a good, dependable 1911. Not pretty, but reliable. A Tisas might fill that gap in the collection.

on Average the DW is going to be a better pistol, but I have said for a long time they are overpriced. They used to be a pretty good buy. but then raised their prices getting close to Baer and Brown territory.
