Here I have a piece that isn’t a firearm but I wasn’t sure where to ask my question. I’ve gotten feedback from it on fb and I just wanna travel all avenues before I accept the answer “it’s a knockoff”. The only thing it says on it is made in Italy. I would think though that a mass produced piece would have identical engraving on each side of it. I also would think the handle would fit nicer. Tell me what you think. Either way it is pretty dang cool.

If it's original, it should have the mouse's fingerprints on it somewhere, and maybe even his initials engraved from when he tuned it up.

It's a reproduction. For one, back when these were made, they were a high dollar item, only the rich could afford them. They were all handmade and the people that made them all had their own style and tweaks. It takes a lot of work to make something like that by hand and tune it up, I have a friend that is a custom flintlock rifle maker and he has made them. Quite pricey too btw, I think 12-1400.00 if i remember right. Point is, if it weren't a mass produced knockoff, it would have an artist signature on it somewhere, more than likely.

Also if you google "flintlock lighter" https://www.bing.com/images/search?...DAB1DCC402B24F381F7675B245D32E6FE&FORM=IQFRBA You can see this exact one in several different places. Cool Piece, I'd like to have one too, repro or not.

Well that solves that then lol. Thanks for the info. Yea as a reproduction I don’t think it has much value unfortunately but still a neat piece to put it display cabinet.
