Decided to try my hand at leather carving. Still need lots of practice but I’ve got some ideas, my brother in law was in the 101st so I’m going to make him a knife with a leather sheath that is has a carved American flag with the Screaming Eagle’s emblem on the front. I definitely gotta get better at the lettering though!

Patience and concentration yes, you wet the leather before doing anything so it’s really really easy to cut and stamp, it’s also really easy to screw up by bumping it with a finger nail or wedding ring!

Just screwing around. I've wanted to do this for a while, and after helping out a friend, I was
inspired to do it.
I'm pleased with the result.

Finished this one today, 180 layer Damascus drop point, Chechen scales and acrylic resin segments with a slightly tapered tang.

It’s fun, if you don’t mind cutting and burning yourself all the time, of course I could just be a klutz

Cuts and burns aren't my fear. My fear is the cost. I'm the type that starts a hobby and it quickly gets insanely expensive. So, it's better for me to be jealous of your skills than to go down the rabbit hole...

Oh I know that feeling, I don’t even want to talk about how much that press costs, but it’s a heck of a lot easier than doing it by hand!
