Switchblade knives. A friend of mine that does a lot of gun shows tells me that a switchblade is legal in Indian.

We are talking Push a button and the blade swings out.

Is he right or am I. I think they are illegal in our state.

The nice thing is they are Illegal across the Board for everyone once you cross the State Line. By that I mean NO exceptions for LEO, Firemen, or Military within the State of Indiana...

    Chinese throwing stars...

    Really? How embarrassing.

The Korean throwing stars never get singled out like that. :D

From what I was told in a LEO academy the throwing star law came out after some 60's Kung Fu movies. Apparently they were enough to scare state legislators. "Something so small yet so lethal."

I purchased a "switchblade" at FDIC in Indy a few years ago. I was told by the vendor that they were legal for firefighters and ems to carry. Long story short....he lied. Luckily the leo that set me straight was cool and let me keep my blade.

Wow, I had a really cool switchblade for years. Got it in Gatlinburg when I was 12 and had it til I lost it sometime after high school. It's silly the things that are illegal.

A gravity knife is basically an out-the-front auto without a spring. You just point it down, push the button/flip the switch, etc., & the blade comes out due to gravity.

Well, I would like to see a definition on this somewhere in the IC... I have never heard of them being illegal here.

I have always seen the balisong being called a gravity assisted knife.
