I had the chance to go through a couple of scenarios at the Carmel PD/Fishers PD range (not sure who else uses it... fpdshooter?) at 96th and Hazel Dell this evening.

I was under the impression we were going to be using a FATS machine but that was in a corner collecting dust. I guess they just got this "Laser Shot" in fairly recently. It was very cool. The gun used was a Glock and they had 3 of them. (one of which had C02 blowback)

The scenarios were very "up to date" / realistic. I had 3 chances to go through it and the first two were fairly easy but the last one I encountered was a shootout down a school hallway. Kids running everywhere and a couple with guns who would pop out of classrooms as I "walked" down the hall.

In my brief experience with it I think it is an excellent training tool.

Wouldn't it be nice if all of us could use this at 96th/Hazel Dell  Only problem is it is literally at the sewage treatment plant. :n00b:

Thanks for sharing. I have been looking at this system and will chat with CPD about their experience with it. We are in talks with an agency about running courses with their FATS machine, but Laser Shot does look more up-to-date.

    Regards,

    Jim

We used to have a yearly Indiana SWAT competition there, and the swage plant can be a bit much. They have a great range there with some cool moving tragets. Sounds like some good trainig and thanks for sharing.
