Does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive laser bore sight that will fit a .22? The iron sights on my .22 rifle are WAY off because the locking screw was loose from a complete tear down and cleaning.

Read the reviews before you purchase this one.

I have one of these and it is great. The wire to the laser from the battery pack feels flimsy so I just make sure to protect it and not bang it around or let a bolt slam shut on it.

The problem mentioned in the reviews is not the wire to the battery pack. That is a concern, but it is manageable. However, every one of the reviews (well, I only read the first ten or so) on the Amazon link indicated the unit wobbles in the barrel, creating a multitude of dots instead of the one dot needed to sight in the rifle. I have not used it, have not tested it, and have no vested interest in it. I just thought it advisable to point out to fellow :ingo:ers that many have had problems with the unit. The reviewers on the link were nearly unanimous in their decision to send the unit back for a refund.

Just a heads up. Y'all have fun.

I have the little bushnell laser boresighter. It works ok. It's not dead nuts accurate, but it's within about 3-4 MOA, ceratinly enough to get you on target and then fine tune later.

I'm in Bloomington if you're nearby.
Also, I usually sight it with boresighter in at night (beam is a bit weak for daytime -- perhaps ok in shade)

No. We can't just shoot it!? Technology MUST be used.

An 8.5x11 piece of paper is 34x44moa. That's a lot of adjustment. A standard velocity .22 zeroed at 25yards only needs to come up 28-30 moa to be on at 200.

Doesn't anybody shoot anymore? Eyeball it, go to the range and try it at 10 yards and adjust it.

You can't imagine a scenario where it might save a life to be able to mount an optic or go hands on with an unfamiliar weapon and have it modestly accurate within 5 minutes verses a half day trip to the range?

On my .22 rifle the front sight is held firm with a set screw. When that came loose, long before I noticed since I wasn't the primary shooter, it greatly shifted the point of impact.
