Okay, I'm really getting concerned about this ammo shortage thing now. Just scoured the net for large pistol primers and can't find any in stock at the twenty or so places I checked. Wanted to reload a few boxes of .45's and can't find any primers. Still have a pound of Bullseye and a couple of hundred Speer 185 gr. Gold Dot HP's but no primers. It's starting to get scary out there....

I picked up a thousand Win 209 primers at the Indiana Gun Club yesterday & noticed that they had a several boxes of several thousand, but I do not think that they carry metalic reloading supplies (just shotshell stuff).
Anyway I searched through my components and stuff & I could not find large pistol primers either so I'm going to need to pick up a couple thousand myself, if we can find them! LOL
I did happen to find an unopened box of a thousand small rifle primers though! so these along with the thousand Win 209s for my shotshell reloader should keep me busy for awhile.

Every once in a while Powder Valley gets some of them in stock but they go quickly... you have to keep checking their website.
I sort of panicked a few weeks ago when I was low on small pistol primers... a friend eventually found small pistol magnum primers in stock at Widener's. I ordered 10,000. They were sold out the next week.
So I guess what I'm saying is there are primers out there, but you have to be quick.
This shortage is affecting my shooting habits... lately I've been shooting a lot more 22. I'm saving my 9mm and 45 for competition. This isn't a good practice strategy but it satisfies my paranoia.
