Kimber sometimes gets a bad rap.
I have/do own kimbers. Never had a problem. If you like it and it works thats all that matters

Wife has a LW commander. It wouldn’t run at all. No help from Kimber, answer was it needed to be shot in. 800 rounds later still not reliable. Way over sprung. Once I dropped in the proper 19lb main spring and 13 lb recoil spring all was fine.

Incidentally the Springfields also come way over sprung.

Years ago (2008?) I had a Custom Tactical ll. (45acp)
Lightweight aluminum frame.
The feedramp was frame mounted.
After a thousand rounds or so that feed ramp resembled an orange peel.
Finish gone, small dents.
Still fed fmj, but not HP ammo (consistently)
Kimber was no help, their CS and quality turned me off, haven't considered a Kimber product since.
