In Japan price ranges for a Shinken is from 1,200,000JPY (Roughly 10,000 US Dollars) to 5,000,000JPY (Roughly 42,000 US Dollars).

Given its highly illegal nature and the fact that Japan is an island country, I have no idea where the owner of that site is getting his crack from, but he needs to lay off the pipe when he is pricing his blades..! While that is a correct price range for a museum-quality blade made by a high-ranked smith or a National Living Treasure, a good Iaido/test-cutting blade can be had for a low low price of around $2500~5000!
