"Swamp People" now has a spinoff series called "Swamp People: Serpent Invasion" but they just catch them and remove them. If they're euthanizing them, it's done outside of the show. I never could figure out why they wouldn't just go ahead and do it. They have never had a problem shooting the gators and showing the aftermath on the original show.

If it's like the alligator hunts, no thanks.
They use, or at least they used to use, what's known as a " boom stick".
It is literally a stick, about 4' long (one I saw) with a 12gauge shell screwed to the end of the stick.
You needed to poke the alligator to set the shell off.
Make my boom stick at least 12' long and I'll use it right after I empty the .44 mag.

Found that show by accident while channel surfing. Those guys are crazy, walking around in the dark in knee high water hunting those things. I'd stay in the boat with a 12 gauge and a spotlight ! LOL

Most of the time they kill the gators with a .22. There's a quarter-size "kill spot" on top of their head that they shoot and it's lights out.

Chooot dem.. choooot demm: so he says. I think..? Guy gets paid to talk after eating a giant sized Charleston chew candy bar
But I wondered how log it would take before it came to this: indigenous species and stupidity in peoples.. gee I didn’t know a python would grow that big , so let’s just let it go in the swamp.. what could that hurt?
I foresee a large surpluses of snake skin boot fodder

It is most typically a .44 or .357 at the end of the bang stick not a shotshell.
