ISIL 00 Buck Loads - Bacon Question

Not sure if this question has already been asked. I saw an ad for ISIL 00 Buck loads, with bacon. If I wanted to load up some on my own would imitation bacon work? It's drier and won't have to worry about the bacon grease getting into my powder or gunking up the barrel. But if there's no 'bacon' in it, it would lose some effectiveness. Am I right? If not, do you think thick slice, thin slice or double smoked would be best? I am new to reloading so will have more questions in the future.
