Different officers do things in different ways. If I am concerned about someone in a vehicle enough to draw my weapon than I am going to order them out of the vehicle from the best position of cover I have. I am not walking up on a vehicle where I have a bad feeling. As long as the stop is legal the driver or any passengers can be ordered out. Research Mimms, Wilson and Brendlin if you want to know more.

OP has his way of looking at the world. I think many should walk in LEO's shoes for a minute and then see how the world looks to them. I think some opinions and views would change dramatically. Fact is I am sure of it.

I would say this is very true. I believe it equally true that our resident LEOs would have a similar reaction if they were to spend some time without their badges in a community full of cops who need their necks stretched.

That goes both ways. Everyone sees things through their own glasses. Some are wearing goggles that life dealt to them and some chose their eyewear.

Some LEOs either never knew or don't remember what it's like to live without their badge, and worse yet, some don't care. Some private citizens don't care what it's like for cops, and there are both reasonable and unreasonable factors at play there too.

Furthermore, a deep understanding of something does not guarantee correct conclusions nor even logical opinions.
