I just like the round, I really don't think I have to justify why, or what I like... I think if you could ask all the people killed by the 7.62x29 if they thought it were accurate, they might say yes. The 5.56 has been mostly considered a light round for military work, and for general killing, but seems to work for both needs. Now, can I eat my lunch?....
My mistake, I thought this was a discussion forum. Sorry I imposed upon you sir.

I don’t have anything positive to say about the people who hoard and then resell at inflated prices, so I’ll just leave it at that… Hoarding just to hoard is an illness all it’s own, but if not done to inflate the market for resell then whatever, I guess.
So its a bad thing to take ones hard earned $25,000 dollars and invest in primers after the last shortage and then sell them a few years later for 4-5 fold the money?

My *, i‘ve got one rifle I buba’ed and a carbine that’s original. Think I paid 49.00 or 89.00 for them each. Don’t remember, they came from Shotgun News 3 fers. Buy 3 for X dollars. Can’t see them being worth much more today.

But I do respect the caliber.

I would agree the basic refurbs are $300 or so rifles, other than that it comes down to collector interest in various markings, maker, country of origin, model, is it Finnish, etc etc....

Some of my smoothest/most accurate bolt rifles are mosin "garbage rods", I love shooting and collecting these things but some of the asking prices certainly are ridiculous on the boring refurbs...

Mosins were made in the literal MILLIONS over the years. There’s no reason they aren’t still selling for $100 IMO. They’re nothing special for the most part, and they’re literally everywhere. Why anyone thinks one should be worth $400+ is beyond me, but I want whatever drugs they’re on…

Same goes for the BHP. Something near two million made, but when Browning said “we’re done,” suddenly a solid and reliable $600-700 pistol became an overnight diamond fetching twice that amount or more. Because they stopped making them. Literally no other reason. People suddenly said “yOu CaN’t GeT tHeSe AnY mOrE!!1!” and BAM, the market instantly started to rape buyers in the A. It’s a mental illness the firearms world suffers from, and it’s idiotic.
They made millions of Mausers, Garands, Enfield, and Ariskas, and none of them sell for $100. And don't get me started on the millions of AR's

    $450?
For example, I have a Finnish M39 with a pre-1898 octagonal receiver, that's in un-issued condition that even came with the Arsenal Tag that I'd NEVER sell for only $450.

Yep, and most of those aren’t worth what people ask for then anymore either, IMO. The last Enfield I bought set me back ~$500 around 7-8 years ago. But even at $700-800 or so they’re still worth it if it’s a mummy or in primo condition. At the $1000+ I see some go for? Nope. Garands are completely out of control.

And like the M39 referenced above, a Mauser, Enfield, or Garand are an entirely different quality of firearm. Same goes for most ARs. Even back when I first got in to ARs when the AWB died, they cost more than a Mosin by an order of magnitude (at least ones that weren’t total ****).

Mosins are bottom of the barrel milsurps to me. They shoot, and they’ll take a beating, but a finely crafted, refined piece of engineering they are not, and thus are not worth the crazy prices some ask for them.
