FIFY. Our best bet is to stay out any armed conflict in the middle east. The best possible solution is to back out, supply all sides with way more weaponry than they need, sit back and watch them kill each other. Our military has proven time and again that they can open a huge can-o-whoopass on any nation who chooses to test us. Our incompetent leadership has proven time and again that the military is a poor way to fight an ideology. Terrorism is an ideology, not a country. Sell 'em weapons, give 'em weapons, make sure they use them at home, on each other. There is no victory to be had in the middle east.
