Intro to Handguns Class

Hello everyone,

I was looking around but couldn't find a class just for intro to handguns. I wanted to know you anyone can point me in the right direction. We are in the Hammond/East Chicago area so somewhere close for a weekday class and a little further away is alright for a weekend class.

What I'm looking for is a class that has the bottom of the barrel basic information about handguns. I'm looking for my cousin and his wife and my gf, I told them I would also take the class with them. My cousin is looking to purchase his first and I'm looking to get my gf her first.

Any help will be appreciated.

I would recommend looking into Blythe's Sport Shop. They do classes in Valpo. There's also a location in Griffith. I don't know if the Griffith location does classes. I would give them a call and ask.

South County Guns just opened a location in Schereville. Would be worth calling them and ask as well.

Sorry, I don't have info on basic classes.
But, after you've taken a basic class, you might be interested in Tactical Firearms Training
I've taken Guy Relford's gun law class, and I can't recommend it enough.
It's in Indianapolis, but worth the trip.
He has stated in the past, that he'd do a class up here, if enough people signed up.

He also has other classes besides gun law.

look for an NRA basic pistol class. It should be about what you want.

Basic classes available at Parabellum in Avon but that may be a little bit of a drive.

This is what you want to take. Don't waste your time on a 2 hour intro class. They are a waste of money IMHO and I have taught them.
