I was in Fishers today and got my oil changed at the Valvoline there. They are kind enough to offer free Wi-Fi for their customers, while they wait. Sadly, when I attempted to log into INGO, (via my trusty iPod Touch), I was rerouted to a page that informed me that INGO was banned. For "Weapons" based speech. Needless to say I was bummed and filed a complaint, via the same web site. Hopefully, they'll unblock INGO, so some future customer will be able to log in.

Possible on a laptop, not so possible on an iPod Touch. Especially an older model, like mine.

It can be done but I can say from personal experience you do not want to try this with your coffee machine.

Well, there are fancier setups where you alter your browser configuration, but a good solution for a quick proxy in a situation like this is a site like atunnel.com. Go there and then enter your real destination. The filtering software will see only the atunnel.com address.

I go to Vtunnel or NINJA CLOCK & those proxy website won't let the the filters know that you're going to porn or gun sites

I carry my access with me and don't usually use WI-FI but that is still good info to have. I've had that trouble b4 I got the mobil modem.

I use teamviewer (TeamViewer - Free Remote Access and Remote Desktop Sharing over the Internet) from my iPod to my laptop and view from there. Works like a charm.

Where was all this good advice when I spent 7 hours sitting up at Indy Hand to Shoulder Center last month. Had my laptop and they had INGO blocked. I was really bummed, I had to work instead.

I wish I knew this existed before now as well.... Work would have been so much more tolerable. Now that I'm self employed I can go to any site I want or for that matter take a day off just to go to the range or a couple gun stores.

Many smaller companies just subscribe to a filtering service that includes categories like guns/firearms, porn, hate speech, etc. In some cases, I don't think they even know their provider IS filtering, let alone WHAT is being filtered. I know it sounds like a crazy idea, but maybe when that happens somewhere you could TALK TO THEM and see if they're really gun-haters, or just technically challenged. Of course that's not as much fun as planning an OC or boycotting or that kind of thing.
