Anyone have their ducts cleaned out here locally? I understand there is a HUGE difference between the $100 "shop vac" guys and the $1000 robots that climb through the system and do it right. Any recommendations?

Edit - we have 2 children who seem to have pretty bad allergies (like their father), so that's why we are looking.

I had mine done last October when I bought my house. Great guy with the "Climber" type of apparatus as well as UV.

He was recommended by my HVAC guy and did a great job and I would recommend him as well.

Go with a contractor who's only line of business is not duct cleaning. Usually you are better with a specialist but duct cleaning has become something of a sales before service product and the price is whatever they can talk you into.. At very least get several bids and don't buy anything while the salesman is in your house.

I don't do recommendations but Steam matic has done us well

    Necro Thread Resuscitation

I'd like to get the ducts in my home cleaned. I did a search and found this thread from several years ago. We live in a home around a 106 years old. We change the furnace filter every couple of months, using a good filter. No mater what we do dust is worse than it should be. Three of us have sinus and allergy issues which is the reason I am researching this.

I found Midwest Air Solutions through a Yelp review. Only 5 reviews, but good ones. Williams Comfort Air has also been a recurrent find with good ratings. Both have a A+ with the BBB. You see so many scam on things like this. It's one of the main reason I was leaning towards a larger company. Anyone have suggestions.

    Thanks :ingo:

There’s an HVAC company in Zionsville named Control Tech that’s been around for 30+ years. They have a subsidiary called Mighty Ducts. We used their duct cleaning service - don’t remember the cost. Seemed to do a thorough job on our 30 year old ranch house with crawl space ductwork.

My company offers duct cleaning and will go almost anywhere in the state.

Of all the other duct cleaning services, if you choose not to use my company, mite e ducts appears to a really good job and patches the duct work really nice.
