Between the rock and that hardplace
Finally getting around to filling out our state tax return. Question I have, and can't seem to find an answer to is this.

Schedule 3 line 1 asks for the total exemptions claimed on your federal tax return which in our case is 3. On line 2 of schedule 3 it asks for "additional exemptions for dependent children".

For line 1 the total on the federal return was three which included our daughter, can I claim her again on line 2 of Schedule 3?:dunno: She is under 24 and was eligible to be claimed on our federal return.

    I'll take the additional $1500 deduction if possible....:yesway: DUH...:D

Yes, you need to post the number of qualifying child dependents that you have on line 2 of Schedule 3 and then multiply that number times $1,500. This is an extra exemption for dependent children on the Indiana State tax return.
