The only type of Mandatory Firearms Training I might get behind to support would be an Addition to the School Curriculmn...

And that is a Maybe at best...

What I want is for IN to hand out a pamphlet that list the details about carrying. Like where and how and the relevant laws.

How many questions are posted on this board about carrying? How many of you have friends that get a LTCH and don't know the laws?

Heck, just make a good website with all the details and put the URL in the envelop with the LTCH.

indiana laws are simple, have LTCH , no schools, no riverboats, no go in statehouse & state fair.

all other restrictions are other laws or rules..

Sure we no the laws, but the girl who gets a LTCH because her ex-boyfriend is harassing her doesn't.

You can't tell me that we don't have to constantly answer these questions:
    What about open carry?
What if there's a sign at a store? Can I be arrested?
What other sates is my license valid in?
What about on a college campus? That's a school, right?
Is the lifetime LTCH going away?
Do I need to register my gun? Even if I just bought it from my neighbor?
What if I had a drink, can I be arrested for having my handgun?
What type of ammunition can use?
    Can I have a clip[sic] with over ten bullets[sic]?
Do I need to lock my gun when at home?
Can I shoot some one if I see them trying to steal my car?

Having this information presented to the public, by the state and in one place, would go a long ways. Right now many people depend on those gun store ex-marine snipers for information.

Taking a step further it would be nice if when you get your LTCH there's a list of training facilities - not mandated, but offered.

but the state has said what it can.. having something that is not the law come from the state can be confusing..
yes we get a lot of questions.. so do other forums... that is why they are there..

yes informing people, and helping them find training is a good idea..
but for the state to name some places can open a can of worms...

But the state gets it wrong nearly as frequently as the gun store ex-snipers. :dunno:

Give them all a link to the INGO FAQ, it's far more helpful and actually gets updated as laws continue to change.

    What about open carry?

I enjoy the feel of duct tape on my forehead.

What if there's a sign at a store? Can I be arrested?

Only if you are a Libra and the sign is for Scorpios.

Do I need to register my gun? Even if I just bought it from my neighbor?
What if I had a drink, can I be arrested for having my handgun?

No, but oddly one does need to register your drink in Indiana.

Getting serial numbers stamped into a Vodka Collins is a pain.

What if I had a drink, can I be arrested for having my handgun?

Only if you spill your Famous Grouse on your pistol as you will waste fine booze and melt your Glock.

Do I need to lock my gun when at home?

Whatever gets the gun to tap out. Be advised joint locks on guns are tough as wood and metal has very few tendons, nerves or airways.
