OK, first off I am not a statistician. The following is from 2007 FBI information on reported crimes in Indiana. I took this data and broke it down and sorted it into the following. I have ranked the top (most crime) 10 cities vs the bottom 10 (least crime). The “number of crimes reported” represent the raw numbers as reported by the FBI. The percentage of crime is representative of how many crimes were committed per person based on population. (i.e. a population of 100 with 25 crimes would be 25% or .25 crimes per person – 25/100)

WOW Man! I dont see Amity on there anywhere guess our police department is doing a fantastic job!
O' wait a minute we dont have a police department we take care of the problem ourselves and then call the Sheriffs department.
You can have the bigger cities and all those people, I will stay right here in my small community away from the mix of people like you have in Indy and take care of my family!
I like the idea of being able to walk out on my back porch in my birthday suit and not worrying about the neighbors looking me over! For those of you that know me theres a sight for you ain't it!

I'm quite happy living in Noblesville. It does suck that you have to keep your doors and windows locked though. When I was growing up, I lived in Elwood. It was a hopping little town. I think we have over 10,000 people living there but GM was still going strong in Anderson... Well, they were still in Anderson. I remember my dad being on strike a few times during my childhood. But we could leave the doors unlocked when we left the house. The nice thing about the house alarm is that when a door is opened the alarm just beeps once to tell you.

Noblesville is a nice town though.

    Near Marion, IN
I live about an hour north of Indy. I can step out on my front porch and see both ends of town. We have two cops, one for days, and one for nights. One of the largest private shooting ranges in the state is 20 minutes away, and my private range is 5 minutes away. If you want to come shoot for a day, just let me know.

I'm in sorta the same spot as Jay, but Delphi made the map!! I guess in a town this size, somebody's gotta go get drunk every now and then and decide to fight a little..

My house sits 700 ft. off the road and is surrounded on 3 sides by the woods. I have it set up where I step out on my back porch and it is 40 yards to the target area. The porch is covered so we shoot rain or shine! The woods has served many times as a paintball war zone with as many as 40 people one time, this included a state trooper and a federal agent that are friends of mine and several local police officers.
The garage is 12 feet from the porch and the refrigarator always has liquid refreshment in it thats cold!
The front yard is 4.5 acres approximately and the woods are 12 acres and we have seen deer, rabbits, squirrels, turkeys along with owls, foxes and hawks in them.
I had one nosey pesky neighbor that would call the law everytime we would shoot but a quick trip to the county offices and a file of papers showing my property was not within 500 feet of a platted sub-division shut her up finally!

Well my town didn't make any of the lists. I love living here in Forest, pop 160 people in town 843 in the entire township. Much like The thread above we tend to police ourselves out here then maybe call the sheriff. Up till a couple of years ago we even kept the keys in the cars.

Would not move back into the big towns.

    INDY
I grew up about a 15- 20 minit walk from downtown. (GHETT O) And I'm native american and scottish (White guy basically) I was a long haired metal head kid raised in Wanna be thug hell. Life was hard and dangerous exspecailly if you didnt fit in. (I didnt fit in) (and i was fat) Ive seen and experianced enough for a couple lifetimes and im only 28...... but it could have been worse.

I have been to chicago and would say the only thing that makes it worse than indy is there gunlaws. All the bad guys have them. Not enought of the good people do. And the thugs are alot more dangerous because they know most people are unarmed. Im glad I didnt grow up there.
