Looking for some suggestions. I have this gun cabinet: https://www.stack-on.com/product/in-wall-security-cabinet-55/

I really like the cabinet itself - can’t beat it for the price. However the shelves/storage options aren’t great. I’m considering doing a wood interior to make I fit my needs.

Anyone have a cabinet similar to this/have you customize it? What type of wood is best for a “safe” interior?

I'm curious, what are you looking to configure the interior to do?

I don’t believe any one wood would be better than another. Choose what you like. I like to include a small piece of cedar just for the fragrance, but you can just set a piece of cedar in the cabinet. Making shelves out of metal can save precious space over wood.

I’ve thought about several different options. I have the tools/skills to make what I want out of wood so that alone makes it my best option.

I’ve tried a few different magnetic hooks - just doesn’t accomplish the overall goal.

Kaizen foam or something similar might be an option too. Anyone know if these types of foam cause moisture issues?

Interesting - I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see the finished project.

I got the peglock panels in the mail today. I plan on mounting the panels to plywood them the plywood to the cabinet. I’ll try to remember to post pics when it’s done.
