I know most (if not all) cartoons were written for adults and not kids back in the day. Almost all of the old Bugs Bunny cartoons all had adult themes (which is why they're so censored now). They were all either shown on TV during prime time or shown as a lead-in at the movies.

Back then during the first season or two, the Flintstones were considered an adult cartoon show. It was a take-off of Jackie Gleason and the HoneyMooners.
Kids just kinda caught on over the years the show changed its image.

But, it's still stange to see that commercial nowadays.

I think it was, but I think it was the early 80's reboot of the character, not the 60's version.
