Ideas for camping perimeter?

Well I have 2 suggestions. First is from Bear Grylls (laugh but it works). Run a tripwire around your area, and on one end have dangling in a tree a coffee can full of rocks, line is tripped rocks fall, scaring away any 4 legged creatures, and alerting you.

Other method was from a INGO member that suggested the same thing but the alarm is a mousetrap with a pin and primer on it. So instead of rocks clanging, you hear a small gunshot sound. Scaring 4 legged creatures, and maybe giving some doubt to any 2 legged creatures.

mankind have been making camps ringed by thorn branches for thousands of years..

they sell cheap alarms that makes a loud sound when the two pieces are pulled apart. You can buy them at walmart or the dollar store. they are ment to go on windows and doors but work great for trip wires. We would use them during paint ball games to know where people where.
