I set off an alarm the other day myself.
The sheriff showed up shortly thereafter, and he had a few questions for me...
I was asked to change a patio door.
I showed up in the morning and started disassembling the old door when the customer said, "I'm going to run into town for some breakfast. Do you want anything from the doughnut shop?"
I thanked him and said no.
Shortly after he turned out of the drive I found the little control box that was the wireless alarm for this door.
I had already opened the door and everything was normal. The alarm was turned off.
The wire for the switch ran through the old door frame.
When I unhooked the wires the alarm went off, and now the homeowner is not home...
We just waited outside in the drive for the sheriff to make an appearance.
When he showed up I handed him a business card and explained the situation.
He was very cordial and professional.
The customer came home while the sheriff was still on scene and everyone went on about their day.
