Pete seems like a decent guy. Kinda goofy iwth the tie and the pants and all.....

Yeah, that's partially why I like him. He's a Marine Sniper, but he's there for the experience and to have a good time and prove himself. He's not being too "macho" and he's never been anything other than honest to the other guys when they were doing Team events.

My money is on Kelly. He's the best rifle shot on the show.

He just didn't move fast enough and being first he should have sand bagged at least a shot off target after loading 2 or 3 on most of them. He just showed every one the sights were dead on and they only needed to load one round if they could hit a basketball at that distance.

Ah, the show has improved immensely. No more Adam! Unfortunately, no more Kelly either....that kid is amazing but his luck finally ran out. I really thought he might go all the way.

I'm also disappointed that the Cajun is done. He seemed like a good guy and a good shot. I'm surprised he couldn't cut the fuse, but even more suprised that he yanked the trigger on that last shot. Just shows that even experts can make mistakes.

I agree he shouldn't have loaded so many rounds because that definitely cost him time. OTH, I'm not sure I agree about the sights. I saw several of the contestants mess with the sights on the rifles, and seem to recall the voice over talking about that as well. :dunno:

Yes, that helped me as well.:D

All these top guns are dropping shots left and right. Just goes to show what stress will do to your abilities.

I note two observations that ring true in Top Shot:

    1. Everyone is thumb cocking the double action M9, even in the nomination range. The single action auto pistol is head and shoulders above the crunchentickers.

    2. Shooting fast, while it is the new hotness in the gun rags, will get you nowhere fast. "Fast is fast"--bbbzzzzttt, thanks for playing, but you have taken your last shot.:D

That event would have been more interesting and IMO more fair if everyone was not able to see everyone's performance. That gave an unfair advantage to the later competitors.

Just remember - Fast is fine, but accurate is final!!!:rockwoot:
I'm glad that they finally got rid of Denny and Brad - they should have gone a lot earlier, especially Denny.
Since Kelly is gone, my personal preference of the four remaining is:
    1st - Peter
    2nd - Chris
    3rd -JJ
    4th - Iain
I guess we'll see next Sunday.

I noticed it looked like they were messing with the sights but it never gave a good look at exactly what they were doing. I think at most they may be pushing up a ghost ring type flip up sight.

I think it was a smart "safe" move to load three, at least on the first couple guns, one high, one low, one on target if you had to find the zero but that 50 foot shot on a balloon was a gimme.

For a YOUNG, SKINNY, kid it just looked like he almost lollygagged his way up that hill. If I were him I would have had those old timers huffing trying to keep up. That was the whole point of the challenge.

At least that smuck Adam is canned.

The HK-pattern rifles have a rotary diopter-type rear sight with 4 different sized apertures that are calibrated for use at various ranges.

I guess we'll see next Sunday.

    Just on personality...

1 JJ - just seems like a nice guy, no back stabbing or whining around
2 Pete - I hate that greasy rat tail curl on his forehead but go USMC
3 Chris - co-backstabber in cahoots with Adam all the time if you watch close
4 Iain - screw that limey flip flopper. He's been in the USA for years he couldn't shoot a BB gun at "home" so STFU about England. You live in the USA, you shoot in the USA, you are on a show in the USA, now yer on TV and all of a sudden he's all about this british what ever crap. GTF out of here.

There ya go! Thanks, I thought it was something like that. It all makes perfect sense now.
