Got to help a friend by his first firearm today. It's a good feeling to be able to bring others to the dark side.:rockwoot:

Good job ... but don't call it "the dark side".

The Force has a "Dark side", which feeds off emotions such as anger, jealousy, fear, and hate, but the Jedi use the Force only for peaceful purposes. The series' villains, the Sith, embrace the dark side in order to seize power. The Jedi's compassionate and selfless use of the Force has come to be known by inference as "the light side", although that term is not used in the films.

Yes, quite, it's the anti side that feeds on fear, hate, and emotion. Read what they write. We appeal to reality, rationality, and thought. You're bringing him to the light side, away from the dark.

Good job ... but don't call it "the dark side".

The gun is just the equivalent of the light saber. It is a tool. The light/dark, etc is the person and what motivates them to utilize the tool in a certain way. The object in itself is neither light nor dark ;)

Make sure he gets training, and drill him on safety if he didn't grow up with firearms. Gun safety should be taught in middle school to every child in the US! Unfortunately it is not taught in any public school that I know of.
