I think generally getting out of Lake/Porter County would be good if you're a car guy and don't care for emissions testing(I think they still do that...maybe I am wrong.)

I think if you have to be close to a main road, though. Plenty of options in lake/porter counties. I grew up around Kouts. Hebron isn't bad. My brother lives there, parents in Kouts. Another brother is in teh stix out in San Pierre.

I would not live in Illinois.
